Ho-Ho Whoa!

That’s the entire text transcribed exactly the way she typed it in. You can imagine the hilarity that followed as her siblings taunted her and Santa denied presents for 2021. Isabelle is obsessed with Christmas and all the festivities; she loves that we host parties and she gets to invite her friends. She loves to decorate and will likely start hauling up the decorations as soon as the last Trick or Treater leaves our porch on October 31st.
I’m more in the “whoa” category. I love to savor fall. I enjoy the winding down of my garden as it turns from lush green and fruit baring to shades of yellow, orange, red and then brown. I love walking in the morning and watching my breath catch and waft on the cool breeze. While Isabelle is rapidly gearing up, I’m feeling a natural gearing down—a time to pause, reflect and be grateful.
I’ll be good and ready after Thanksgiving to put a lot of love and energy into Isabelle’s favorite holiday. For now, I’m going to continue to enjoy autumn, savor the weather, and be mindful of this one beautiful life I’ve been given and how lucky I feel to be living it.
