As far as I’m concerned, every day is New Year’s Day because as long as you have breath in your body, you have the power to change for the better.
Picture This
Although many tend to make New Year’s Resolutions, there’s really no start date for change that is better than NOW. If you aren’t willing to start NOW, what makes you think that New Year’s Day or Monday or whatever arbitrary day you select will be the magic date that change begins to happen?
If you want change, picture the version of yourself you want to become. Picture it before you ever let your feet hit the ground in the morning.
If what you are visioning is a fit and healthy body, then set your day up to become fit and healthy—sweat first thing by getting in some exercise. Keep that fit and healthy image of yourself in your mind throughout the day and let it inform your food choices and fill you with the fuel you need to become exactly what you envision.
If what you are visioning is to become a motivational speaker, then set your day up to become a motivational speaker. Find books and articles to read about how to become a motivational speaker. Join a Toast Masters group in your area to hone your public speaking skills. Find opportunities at work and through your volunteering to present in front of groups. Join a speakers’ bureau.
When you feed your vision with action, the results come and your goals are met. True, sustainable change happens only when your dreams are met with actions that move you forward.
This year, picture the version of yourself you want to become and start…NOW.
