No One Deserves to be Abused- We Serve Male Victims Too
The Flannery-Keal Home, a program of Hands of Hope, a division of Radiant Health is a safe, temporary, confidential place for both MEN AND WOMEN who are, or who have experienced any form of domestic violence, sexual violence or stalking.
Since 1982, the Flannery-Keal Home has been in operation and existence in a confidential location. Over the 33 past years, the Flannery-Keal Home domestic violence shelter has housed thousands of victims and homeless women up to 45 days, and in some specific situations longer.
We also have no age limit for adolescent boys who want to stay at the facility with their mother or father, if dad is a domestic violence victim. (With the changes in the Violence Against Women Act two years ago, we began serving male victims in the facility, as opposed to housing them elsewhere).
We are staffed 24 hours per day, seven days a week with staff trained to respond to crisis situations and focused on trauma informed care in an empowerment, safe, secure and nurturing environment philosophy.
Because we are staffed at all times, we are always responsive to calls for need. We also have a veteran case manager who meets with all residents weekly to set goals and plans with them.
The Flannery-Keal Home staff and clients run an immaculate facility that includes monthly pest control spraying and routine inspections by myself, as well as annual tours of the facility by Radiant Health agency board of directors. We are also reviewed by our funders at various times, both through peer reviews, audits and site visits, ensuring that our policies, procedures and physical facility is always top notch.
And finally, we are thankful and appreciative of all our donors through United Way of Grant County, local churches, civic groups, organizations, individual donors and anyone in the community who chooses to donate to us.
