Radiant Health is celebrating our 95th anniversary. We want to share some of the seeds that were planted 95 years ago that have shaped who we are today.
Celebrating 95 Years!
Radiant Healtth has always been centered on encouraging, educating and empowering families, children and communities to improve their quality of life. In 1921 the Juvenile Department of the Marion Federated Welfare Association (now FSSI) was focused on civic matters effecting juvenile life.
Through the helpful support of the Police Board and the Mayor actions were to be taken. Police Commissioner Muller and a representative from The Board of Education took action. A plain clothed man was detailed to Wonder Park, and civic matters requiring action included curfew enforcement, truancy, dress code, establishment of a juvenile court, laws banning sale of tobacco to minors, and playground construction.
The financial support came from the Marion Community Chest Board (now known as the United Way). FSSI and our community continue to embrace holistic health for our families. Advocation for the youth of the community is extensive. Through programs like Pearl Bassett Legacy Community and Family Education Services, Project RESPECT, Project Growth, and many other programs. Family Services Society seeks to enrich the life of every young person in the community. Through our combined efforts we can grow a tree.
Plant a seed, grow a tree.
