I’ve been doing some thinking. Always erring on the positive and doing “Lisa Math”, let’s assume we each live for 29,000 days.
29,000 Days
That’s 80 years. Pretty good long life and 29,000 days seems like a lot, right? To put in perspective how short this timeframe is, the earth has been around for approximately 4.5 billion years. Oh, and did you know your chance of being born and reading this right now was 1 in 400 trillion? So, those 29,000 days are not so long and are frankly, shockingly rare when you consider the miniscule chance of your birth.
With this in mind, how are we spending our time? And are we cherishing ourselves and this worldly experience? Are we savoring each up and down with a special knowing of its rarity? I have not been the best steward of my miraculously provided life and at times succumb to negative inner dialog and self-destructive behavior. With this new perspective, however, I’m finding my inner dialog more kind and greater joy in the happy moments, acceptance in the difficult moments and overall contentment.
Our one, short, miraculous life is meant for living and loving. Take this perspective with you and model it for those around you. And most importantly, embrace your 29,000 days, wherever you are along the timeline, and thoroughly appreciate each moment.
